Fitness & exercise are essential components of maintaining a healthy weight, BMI, blood pressure, cholesterol level, metabolism, bone health and healthy immune, neurological and endocrine systems.

Lifting weights to build muscle mass and tone, running, cycling swimming and jogging are all good cardio exercises to increase heart rate, metabolism and burn fat. Making sure to commit to fitness & exercise at least three times a week in order to maintain a good metabolism to process food efficiently – too sedentary and you gain weight and lose energy which will result in increasing health problems down the road.

Joining a gym, working with a trainer, playing a sport or taking up running, walking or biking are all great ways to keep in shape, improve your mood and endorphin levels and get greater levels of energy.

Sign up for a yoga class, walk with a neighbor or lift weights at home – getting into a fitness & exercise routine is easy to do and the rewards are worth the effort.
