New health concerns are being raised about a component found in antibacterial soap called triclosan. Today, Fox News’ Medical A-Team’s Dr. David Samadi explained the studies finding a link between the agent, found in 75 percent of antibacterial soaps and body washes, and hormonal problems, infertility and early puberty.
Dr. Samadi cautioned that the studies so far have been predominately conducted on animals, however they do suggest the preceding and other medical issues could arise from use.
And ladies, pay attention – Dr. Samadi also brought along another potential issue of medical import: lipstick. Don’t worry, there aren’t any health risks of choosing a bad shade, but Samadi said that a component of lipstick is truly of concern. That is, one metal found in the cosmetic can lead to stomach cancer, research suggests.
Find out what the doc says you can do to pucker up with color and reduce any health risks from wear.
