Committing to a healthy diet can be a life-changing decision. Eating food that contributes to skin, bone and muscle development, that protects the organs and keeps the endocrine, nervous and digestive systems functioning optimally, does not have to be a burden or a compromise for good taste and variety.

The internet abounds with recipes of healthy and tasty meals that combine the all-so necessary proteins, antioxidants, vitamins that counteract diseases, illness, chronic conditions and pain.

Knowing what to eat is as important as knowing what to stay away from: processed meats, high sugar intake, food additives (nitrates, sulfites), artificial sweeteners, animal products that contain hormones and antibiotics, pesticides and herbicides from vegetables and fruits have been linked to different types of cancer. Limiting these options as much as possible, while adding more fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, nuts and seeds, olive oil, herbs and spices, whole grains, combined with exercise, not smoking and only occasionally drinking red wine, coffee and tea can greatly benefit the quality of your life.
